The Primary Capital Programme, which aimed to renew at least half of England's primary schools over its lifetime, is currently under review along with all of the Department for Education's capital investment.
Once the results of the Schools Capital Review are known, this page will be updated with future funding and investment plans for primary schools.
A flat rate of £6.5million was provided to each of the 23 PCP pathfinders in 2008/09. In 2009/10 local authorities received funding allocated by a formula based on the number of primary pupils and deprivation.
At August 2010, the following PCP projects had been completed:
New builds: 65
Major extensions/refurbishments: 128
These figures will continue to be updated during the review period.
