PfS welcomes review of school building and capital programmes

05 July 2010

Partnerships for Schools (PfS) - the organisation responsible for management and delivery of the full suite of schools capital programmes, including Building Schools for the Future, Academies and the Primary Capital Programme - has welcomed the review announced today by the Secretary of State, the Rt Hon Michael Gove.

Partnerships for Schools will work closely with the review's chair, Sebastian James and the Department for Education over the course of the review.

Tim Byles, Chief Executive of PfS, said: "The review of schools capital will help ensure that the way in which future spending on school buildings and facilities is delivered matches the new Government's priorities.

"We look forward to working with Sebastian James and the wider review team alongside the Department for Education to ensure that the future shape of schools capital investment ensures that the schools that need it most, get the funding first and that those investments represent excellent value for money to the public purse."

More details about the review, including a table showing the impact of the announcement for all Building Schools for the Future projects, can be found on the Department for Education website: http://www.education.gov.uk/news/news/bsf-review
